COMMUNITIES OF PROMISE (COP) COALITION

“If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.”

– African proverb

COP Mission
The COP coalition is a network of organizations that seek to empower the 33311 communities, families, and residents through collaborations, leveraging resources, and mutual support, as well as through cross-organizational events and tactics with a lens of racial and health equity and a goal of increasing civic engagement.

COP Vision
All COP Partners are committed to holistic approaches and interventions in areas including, but not limited to, health, economic empowerment, housing, culture, education, and community building. Our goal is to engage residents in driving educations and mobilization towards personal and professional advancement.

COP Pillars
– Leveraging partnerships and collaborations
– Engaging through social media
– Diverse organizational involvement
– Resident and community guidance and leadership

COP Leadership
COP consists of a Steering Committee made up of one Chair, one Co-Chair and one Secretary. Each Focus area committee has one lead or two co-leads. These terms are for one year.

COP Focus Areas
COP Focus Areas coincide with or encompass partners’ organizational goals/projects/services. COP partners participate in each of the focus-areas as desired.
– Partners are encouraged to actively participate in at least ONE Focus Area working group.
– Partners may join different Focus Area working groups.
– During monthly meetings, partners must join only ONE focus area break out. There will be opportunities to stay connected with other Focus Area work/projects through the monthly meeting “Report Backs” and at separate Focus Area-scheduled calls/meetings.
– Different Focus Area working groups can collaborate for specific projects/events.
– Partners commit to leveraging services, resources, assistance, participation, and outreach efforts to accomplish Focus Area projects, events, and other engagements.
– Each Focus Area working group commits to planning, developing, and implementing, at least ONE collaboration within 6 months.
